Billie Baker is a multidisciplinary artist currently creating on unceded Bundjalung Country. Her diverse body of work spans film, digital drawing, photography, weaving, painting, and textiles. She employs acidic and saturated colors alongside ethereal mark-making to craft dream-like interpretations of the human form and natural landscapes.
As seen in her artwork, Baker’s style is characterised by intricate patterns and organic shapes, with vibrant hues and fluid lines that evoke a sense of both movement and stillness. These elements come together to explore the intricate relationship between humans and the environment, drawing on mythology and spirituality to reveal hidden, alternative realities that highlight this complexity.
